Welcome to the Home of the 2nd Annual Monroe County Music Festival

Where did the House of Neighborly Service begin? 

In 2014, a small group of local residents met to begin a networking group to better use our resources, agencies and better provide for at-risk neighbors! 

As more pastors, school social workers, law enforcement and business owners joined the group the House of Neighborly Service began forming the premise that they would provide a hand up to local residents in need and would network and share resources and expertise to best serve our Monroe County community.  

The House of Neighborly Service then began answering a remote helpline sponsored by the City of Waterloo.  In 2015, the organization became a 501c3 and formed a Board of Directors. 

With donors and volunteers joining, the organization opened an office, hired an Executive Director and worked towards where they are today. 

We are supported by our local businesses, churches, agencies, schools, civic groups and residents financially and with goods and services! 

In 2025 we will celebrate our ten year anniversary and look forward to our future journey!
